Allow the khoya mixture to cool until warm before adding powdered sugar.
Add rose syrup gradually because the quantity needed can vary depending on the consistency of the khoya.
Use fresh, clean and food-safe rose petals.
If the mixture feels too soft, add a little extra pistachio powder.
If it feels dry, add a tiny amount of rose syrup or milk.
For the best texture, store the modaks refrigerated and bring them to room temperature briefly before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve these Rose Petal Pistachio Modaks chilled or slightly cool as a festive mithai. They pair beautifully with a cup of masala chai, kesar milk or any festive Indian beverage. They also make an elegant homemade gift for family and friends during festive celebrations.
Storage:
Store the modaks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2–3 days. Since the recipe contains fresh rose petals and khoya, refrigeration is recommended.
Nutrition:
These modaks provide energy from khoya and powdered sugar, while pistachios contribute plant-based protein, healthy fats and minerals. Fresh rose petals add a delicate floral character along with naturally occurring antioxidants. Since khoya and sugar are used, these are best enjoyed as a festive treat in moderation.
