HARIYALA CURD RICE

Curd rice is a popular and comfort rice dish from Southern India. It’s known as  Thayir Sadam in Southern India. Thayir means curd and sadam means rice. There are lots of combination of rice dishes we all make in our routine life. Though in regular meals steamed rice is consumed by all of us. But combination rice delicacies are turned into a one pot meal.
Curd rice is easy to make and also tastes yummy. When you feel there is nothing more to eat or cook, this is the best option for rice lovers. One more thing is that we can even use leftover rice. Curd rice is best option in festive season when we are fed up of sweets and heavy food. Here I have prepared Hariyala curd rice using green paste of coriander, mint leaves and green chillies.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2 persons

Ingredients :
2 cup steamed rice
1 tbsp chopped cucumber
1 tbsp grated carrot
Salt to taste
For tempering:
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp udad dal
1 sprig curry leaves
For green paste:
1/2 cup roughly chopped coriander
1/4 cup mint leaves
2 roughly chopped green chillies
2 cup curd

Method:

1. Grind all the ingredients of green paste into a paste. Then add curd and blend it well.

2. Now mix the rice and green paste. Add cucumber , carrot and salt and mix well.

3. Prepare temper by tempering the ingredients. Pour this temper  on to the prepared rice.

4. Relish this comfort rice plate
