ITALIAN CHANA SALAD

Kala chana, also known as Desi chana or black chickpea, is a protein-rich cereal consumed in various dishes. Today, I’m sharing a unique Italian-inspired kala chana salad recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups boiled kala chana
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped yellow bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green capsicum
  • 6-8 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup basil pesto
  • 1 tablespoon Italian mixed herbs
  • Black salt to taste

Method:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine boiled kala chana, onions, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes.
  2. Add pesto, herbs, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Squeeze lemon juice and sprinkle coriander and basil. Mix again.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy your wholesome and healthy Italian Chana Salad!
