PEANUT BUTTER MODAK

Modak or Modakam also known as Kozhakattai in Tamil is an Indian sweet popular in many Indian states and cultures. According to Hindu beliefs, it is considered as one of the favourite dishes of Lord Ganesh and offered as a prasad. Usually modak is prepared from rice flour ( for outer layer ) and coconut, jaggery. (For stuffing) and then steamed, which is known as Ukadiche Modak but apart from this modak many other varieties of modak are prepared and offered as prasad. Today I have prepared peanut butter modaks which need not any cooking and can be prepared in a jiffy, moreover it’s loved by kids too.

Makes : 15 modaks

Ingredients:
10-15 biscuits of your choice
1/2 cup peanut butter ( I have used crunchy )
1/4 cup chocolate spread

Method:

  1. Grind biscuits in powder.
  2. Add chocolate spread and peanut butter.
  3. Mix well to form like a dough, if needed you can add a little milk to bind.
  4. Then take modak mould, fill it with this mixture and press well. Then open the mould and remove modak carefully.
  5. Our delicious modak are ready. Store in refrigerator and relish when you wish.
