DHOKLA BRUSCHETTA

DHOKLA BRUSCHETTA

Bruschetta is an antipasto from Italy consisting of grilled bread with garlic and topped with olive oil and salt , along with tomatoes ,onions , bell peppers, cheese etc.
Here is a fusion and healthy version of Bruschetta . As we all know breads are majorly prepared from all purpose flour and yeast which are not advisable to consume often for good health. So here I have replaced bread with dhokla and made it a healthy choice.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4 persons

Ingredients:

4 cups dhokla batter/ Idli batter
4 tbsp oil

For topping:
1 onion
1 tomato
1 small capsicum
1 small red bell pepper
1 small yellow bell pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp mixed herbs ( optional )
1 tsp black pepper powder
4 tbsp grated cheese
Salt to taste

For sprinkle :

4 tbsp grated cheese
2 tbsp red chilli flakes

Method:

1. Clean and chop all vegetables finely.

2. Take all chopped vegetables in one bowl, then add herbs, black pepper, olive oil, cheese and mix well. Keep it in the refrigerator for few hours so all the flavours of herbs are infused in the vegetables. Add salt at the time of consuming.

3. Now make dhokla of your desired shape in steamer.

4. Once it cools down , unmould it.

5. Shallow fry it from both the sides.

6. Now spread prepared filling on the shallow fried dhokla. Sprinkle grated cheese and chilli flakes. Serve.
