HORSE GRAM PANCAKES

Horse gram is known as Kalthi in Gujarati, Kulthi in Hindi & Kollu in Tamil. Horse gram is a low profile legume which is the staple food for horses & cattle.
Though it is low profile & used very less by majority of people it is one of the richest vegetarian source of protein. it is low in fat & high in carbohydrates content.
This super food has following scientifically proven facts & more positive effects are under research.
It is — antioxidant , anti bacterial, anti fungal & also anti hyper glycemic. If we compare it’s nutritional value, it has 3 times more calories than chicken, 2 times more protein than eggs. 10 times more calcium than milk & same amount of phosphorus like in soya.

Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes
Serves : 4 persons
Ingredients:
1 cup horse gram ( soaked for 4-5 hours )
1/4 cup semolina
1/4 cup rice flour
1/4 cup oats
1/4 cup curd
1 carrot ( grated )
2 onions ( grated )
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
1 tbsp chilli ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking
Method:
1. Grind soaked horse gram & add rice flour, semolina, oats & curd. Mix well.
2. Now add carrot, coriander ,onions, chilli,ginger, garlic paste & salt. Mix well.


3. Now heat Non stick skillet & pour one laddle full of batter & spread it. Add few drops of oil on sides & let it cook.

4. Once it cooks from one side ,flip it & let it cook from second side. If needed add few drops of oil.

5. Serve hot with curd.

Note:
1. Can cover skillet for quick cooking.
