OKRA FRITTERS

We all are fond of various types of pakodas ,wheather we called pakodas, fritters or croquet. But these fried , hot , crispy , spicy pakodas are favourite of all less or more.
Wheather it’s monsoon evenings or chill winter evenings, it may be holiday mornings or busy week days – but this yummy monsters are always invited. Some have it with chutney , ketchup, some need green chillies & onions too. I love to have it without any condiments.
I never thought such tasty fritters can be made from Okra, Bhindi. Saw a clip about this online & I just made it with my changes. I think, this can be perfect choice as a party snack in high tea or as starter too.
Ingredients:
8-10 okra ( lady’s finger )
3/4 cup gram flour
1/4 cup rice flour
1 tbsp tender curry leaves ( finely chopped )
1 tbsp green chillies (finely chopped)
1 tsp ginger paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp asafoetida
Salt to taste.
Oil for frying
Method:
1. Cut heads & tails of okra, vertically slit from centre & then finely chopped it.
2. Now add rest of the ingredients to it & mix well.
3. Squeeze okra with hand, do not add water, it will form a firm dough like texture after squeezing & mixing well.
4. Now in a pre heated oil, deep fry pakodas from the mixture on a medium flame ,till it becomes crispy.
5. Once fried, transfer it in tissue lined plate.
6. Serve hot.
