SESAME SEEDS AND NUTS CHIKKI

Sesame seeds chikki /till chikki is one of the Makarsankranti special chikkis, which is not only delicious but also nutritious. Iron and calcium rich sesame seeds and jaggery make this chikki healthy. Usually till chikki and till ladoos are prepared in Indian households. Today, I gave a little twist to this and have added some nuts, cardamom powder and dry rose petals which makes this chikki even more healthy and delicious.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4 persons
Ingredients:
1 cup sesame seeds ( dry roasted)
1 cup jaggery
1 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp almond flakes
1 tbsp pistachio flakes
1 tbsp dry rose petals
Method:
- Heat jaggery in a thick bottom pan on a low flame, keep stirring.
- Once the jaggery starts foaming and bubbling add, sesame seeds, almond-pistachio flakes, cardamom powder and rose petals.
- Mix very quickly and turn off the heat.
- Spread immediately on a greased surface or greased parchment paper and roll it with greased rolling pin and mark cuts.
- Once it cools completely, store it in an air tight jar.
