ROSE CHAM CHAM

Cham Cham or Chum Chum is a popular Bengali sweet prepared from chena, khoya, dry fruits etc. Btead cham cham is a quick version of traditional cham cham. In this recipe chena/paneer is replaced with bread. This quick ,easy and delicious recipe is hot favorite.
I have prepared filling / stuffing using Malai, sugar and dryfruits.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes
Serves: 4 persons
Ingredients:
For sugar syrup:
1 cup suagar
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp rose water
Few drop red food colour
For stuffing:
1 cup fresh malai
1/4 cup powder sugar
1/4 cup chopped dry fruits
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Other ingredients:
8 slices bread
Method:
- For sugar syrup ,add sugar and water in a pan and boil till sugar melts and becomes little thick. Then add rose water, red food colour, mix and keep aside.
- For stuffing: Add malai and powder sugar in a mixing bowl and mix well. Then add chopped dryfruits, cardamom powder, mix and refrigerate for a while.
- Now take bread and cut your desired shape with a cookie cutter.
- Now spread the prepared stuffing one one bread piece and cover with other piece and lightly press.
- Now dip this bread sandwich in prepared sugar syrup and roll and coat it with dessicated coconut. Then refrigerate bread cham cham.
- Serve cold/chilled bread cham cham.
