BLUE CHAM CHAM

Cham Cham or Chum Chum is a popular Bengali sweet prepared from chena, khoya, dry fruits etc. Btead cham cham is a quick version of traditional cham cham. In this recipe chena/paneer is replaced with bread. This quick ,easy and delicious recipe is hot favorite.
I have prepared filling / stuffing using Malai, sugar and dryfruits.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes
Serves: 4 persons

Ingredients:

For sugar syrup:
1 cup suagar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp butterfly pea powder/dry flower /tea bag
For stuffing:
1 cup fresh malai
1/4 cup powder sugar
1/4 cup chopped dry fruits
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Other ingredients:
8 slices bread

Method:

  1. For sugar syrup ,add sugar and water in a pan and boil till sugar melts and becomes little thick. Then add blue pea flower, mix and keep aside.
  2. For stuffing: Add malai and powder sugar in a mixing bowl and mix well. Then add chopped dryfruits, cardamom powder, mix and refrigerate for a while.
  3. Now take bread and cut your desired shape with a cookie cutter.
  4. Now spread the prepared stuffing one one bread piece and cover with other piece and lightly press.
  5. Now dip this bread sandwich in prepared sugar syrup and roll and coat it with dessicated coconut. Then refrigerate bread cham cham.
  6. Serve cold/chilled bread cham cham.
