OATS CHIWDA

Chiwda/Chevda is a famous fried snack that usually contains poha, peanuts, daliya (roasted gram), and sometimes dry coconut, dry fruits, etc. Here, I have prepared a roasted chiwda using oats, makhana, and poha, along with jowar dhani (popped sorghum). This healthy and delicious chiwda is perfect for festivals. Do give it a try this festive season.

Serves: 8 persons
Ingredients:
- 2 cups oats
- 1 cup makhana
- 2 cups nylon poha
- 1 cup jowar dhani
- 1/4 cup peanuts
- 1/4 cup daliya
- 10-12 cashew nuts (halves)
- 2 sprigs curry leaves
- 2 green chilies (chopped)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp dry mango powder (aamchur)
- 4 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Dry roast oats, poha, makhana, and jowar dhani separately.
- Heat oil in a broad vessel. Fry peanuts and daliya on a medium-low flame.
- Further, add cashew nuts, makhana, and sauté for a bit. Then add curry leaves and green chilies. Sauté some more.
- Then, add dry mango powder and turmeric powder and stir for a while.
- Now, add all the dry roasted ingredients and salt. Mix and sauté on a low flame until everything turns perfectly crispy. Then, turn off the heat.
- Once cooled completely, store it in an airtight container.
Note: You can add sugar if you wish.
