STIR FRIED CORIANDER STEMS

STIR-FRIED CORIANDER STALKS

Coriander stalks are the tender, edible stems of the coriander plant, full of flavor and aroma. They can be chopped and added to various dishes like soups, sauces, and chutneys. Additionally, they can be stir-fried or added raw to salads. Coriander stalks are rich in citronellol, a great antiseptic that helps fight microbial growth, treats ulcers, aids digestion, controls blood sugar, boosts immunity, and improves bone health.
So, instead of discarding coriander stems, use them in your cooking.
I’ve prepared a simple coriander stir-fry with gram flour.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1 person

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch coriander stems
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp gram flour
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash and chop the coriander stems.
  2. Heat oil and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped coriander stems and green chilies.
  3. Stir-fry for a few seconds, then add a little water, salt, and turmeric.
  4. Add gram flour and mix quickly to avoid lumps. Cook for 1-2 minutes and turn off the heat.
  5. Serve hot.
