BAKED GULAB JAMUN DONUTS

BAKED GULAB JAMUN DONUTS

Baked Gulab Jamun Donuts offer a creative and delicious twist on traditional Gulab Jamun, combined with the convenience of baked donuts. This fusion dessert brings together the flavors of classic Indian sweets with the modern convenience of baked donuts.

These donuts are made with a mixture of flour, sugar, and spices, and are baked instead of fried. They’re then soaked in a sweet and fragrant Gulab Jamun syrup, made with rosewater, cardamom, and saffron. To add a healthier touch, I’ve replaced refined sugar with jaggery powder.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Baking Time: 15-20 minutes
Serves: 4 persons

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Gulab Jamun pre-mix
  • 1/4 cup jaggery powder
  • 1/4 cup flavorless oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron strands
  • 1 cup rose-flavored sugar syrup

Method:

  1. Soak saffron strands in warm milk. In a mixing bowl, combine oil and jaggery powder, and beat well.
  2. Strain the flour, Gulab Jamun pre-mix, baking powder, baking soda, and cardamom powder into the jaggery mixture.
  3. Add the saffron-infused milk and mix well to form a batter.
  4. Fill donut molds with the batter.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Once baked, let the donuts cool slightly. Then, pour rose sugar syrup over them and sprinkle with almond flakes. Serve warm.
