DAL VEGETABLE PANIYARAM

Monsoon is here and we all crave for various fritters, but eating fried fritters often is not at all a healthy idea. We love hot and spicy snacks during rainy days. Today’s recipe is a delicious and healthy snack which is prepared using leftover dal.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes
Serves : 4 persons
Ingredients:
1 cup thick/dry leftover dal
1 cup Ragi flour
1 cup semolina
3/4 cup curd
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking
2 tbsp sesame seeds
Vegetables to chop together:
1 onion
1 carrot
1 capsicum
1/4 cup boiled sweet corn
1″ piece ginger
2 green chillies
Method:
- Chop all vegetables together in a chopper. Keep aside.
- In a mixing bowl take left over dal, ragi flour, semolina and mix well.
- Then add chopped vegetables,curd, salt and mix well. Add water or curd if needed. We need a thick batter.
- Now grease paniyaram pan and add little oil in all cavities. Once oil becomes hot add little sesame seeds in all the cavities.
- Add spoonful of batter in all cavities, cover and let them cook on a slow to medium flame.
- When they cook from one side flip them. Add oil from the sides and let them cook.
- Serve hot with green chutney.
