VEG UTTPAM

Uttpam, Uthapam or Oothpam is a type of dosa from the South Indian Cuisine. This popular South Indian snack is prepared with fermented rice and lentil batter and topped with various vegetables, herbs and spices. Uttapam is naturally gluten free , vegan, high protein meal and perfect breakfast, tiffin box recipe served with chutney, sambar, podi etc. Unlike a typical dosa which is crispy and thin, uttapam is thicker, little fluffy and with toppings.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: 2 persons

Ingredients:
1 cup dosa batter
1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped tomato
1 finely chopped capsicum
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
Oil for cooking

Method:

  1. Chop all the vegetables and keep aside.
  2. Heat skillet and pour laddleful of batter and spread it in circular direction. Spread it thickerand not thinly like dosa.
  3. Add all the veggies on spreaded uttapam. Add few drops of oil on sides.
  4. Cover and let it cook on medium low flame.
  5. Then flip and cook from other side.
  6. Serve hot with chutney or whatever you like.
