MAAZA JELLY WITH BUTTERSCOTCH CUSTARD

Desserts are the main part of any cuisine. Various desserts – from ice creams to kulfis , puddings to pies, souffles to cakes are largely consumed across the globe. Maaza – a popular mango drink has won people’s heart since decades. Today, I have prepared a fusion dessert using maaza. I have combined two flavours and two desserts.

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Setting time: 30 minutes
Serves: 2 persons
Ingredients:
For Maaza Jelly:
2 glass mazaa
2 tbsp agar agar
Sugar as required
For butterscotch custard:
4 cup milk
2 tbsp butterscotch custard powder
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp butterscotch syrup
1 tbsp butterscotch balls
1 tbsp chocolate chips
1 tbsp mix chocolate chips
2 tbsp digestive biscuit’s coarse powder
2 oreo biscuits (or any chocolate cream biscuits)
1 tbsp almond flakes
Method:
- To prepare the jelly, first soak agar agar in warm water for few minutes.
- Add maaza in sauce pan and turn on the heat, add sugar as required. Once sugar melts and starts boiling, add soaked agar agar and mix well.
- Let it boil, till it forms foams on the top and agar agar melts properly. Then turn off the heat. Once it comes to room temperature keep in the refrigerator, so it sets well.
- In a thick bottom pan, add milk, spare half cup milk aside. Add sugar. Once milk starts boiling and sugar melts then turn the heat on low.
- Now dilute custard powder in spared milk and add into the simmering milk. Mix well and keep stirring to avoid lumps.
- Cook until it turns thick, and then turn off the heat and let it cool. Stir occasionally.
- Once it cools down, break oreo biscuits in pieces and add. Also add butterscotch balls, choco Chips, powdered digestive biscuits, almonds and mix well. Keep in the refrigerator to chill.
- You can set jelly in small bowl or glass for individual serving. You can be creative as you want in serving. In other way I have spread custard in a plate. Cut jelly in small cubes. Drizzle some butterscotch syrup and serve chilled.
