MANGO SAGO

Mango Sago is a dessert, originated in Hong Kong, popular throughout China, Japan and Southeast Asia. It is essentially a chilled mango pudding that gains its texture from the addition of sago pearls. There are many variations of mango sago , but all include pieces of ripe mango, pearled sago and some sort of creaming agent, often coconut milk or sweetened condensed milk. This pudding is relatively easy to make at home, but it is also popular in restaurants and food stalls, both in and outside of Asia.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2 persons

Ingredients:
1/4 cup tapioca / sago pearls
2 +1/4 cup ripe mango dices
1 cup condensed milk
1 cup milk
Few mint leaves

Method:

  1. Wash tapioca pearls and cook them in boiling water. Then strain excess water and keep aside.
  2. In a blender and two cups of mango dices, condensed milk, milk and blend it well.
  3. Add tapioca pearl in blended mango puree. Mix well and refrigerate it for some time.
  4. Top up with some mango dices and mint leaves and serve chilled.
