PAAN SHEERA

Sheera or halwa is traditional Indian sweet. Rava sheera/suji halwa is one of the sheera/halwa which is often prepared in my kitchen. Apart from the classic rava sheera, I have tried variations in flavours in this sheera.
Today, I have prepared Paan sheera for Holi festival. This twist in the classic sheera turned out so good and in result an aromatic and delectable sheera is here. People who loves paan, will definitely love this sheera.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4 persons
Ingredients:
1 cup semolina
3 tbsp ghee
7-8 betel leaves
2 tbsp gulkand
2 tbsp or as required sugar
10-12 fresh rose petals
1 tbsp almond flakes
1 tsp cardamom powder
3 cups milk
Fenel titbits for garnish
Method:
- Trim stems of betel leaves and chop it. Prepare paste by grinding betel leaves and gulkand together. Then add milk and blend it well. Keep aside.
- Heat ghee , add semolina and saute it on a low flame till it turns aromatic.
- Further add prepared milk, mix and cook till ghee separates.
- Add sugar and cook till it melts.
- Lastly add almond flakes, cardamom powder and rose petals. Mix and turn off the heat.
- Garnish eith fenel titbits and fresh rose petals and enjoy.
Note: - You can add tooti frooti and other dry fruits.
