SEV PURI

Sev puri is one of the most popular chaat in India. This popular snack is served as street food and also served by upscale restaurants. This flavourful snack’s main ingredient is puri/papdi – a fried flour discs. These discs are topped with potatoes, various chutneys and besan sev. When you have it — tangy, sweet, spicy, salty and crunchy — all flavours burst in your mouth and this is heaven. This finger licking chaat is famous street food of Mumbai, Pune, though it is popular across many states of India.

Serves: 4 persons
Ingredients:
24 puri/papdi
2 cup sev
1 cup boiled and mashed potato(add salt and red chilli powder
1/2 cup green coriander chutney
1/4 cup garlic chutney
3/4 cup dates-tamrind chutney
2 finely chopped, onions
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
Chaat masala, as required
Method:
- Arrange puris in a plate.
- Add some spiced and seasoned potato in each puri.
- Further add all three chutneys as per your taste.
- Add onion and sprinkle some chaat masala.
- Finally sprinkle sev and garnish with coriander.
- Relish immediately.
Note:
- Can add tomatoes, pomegranate and grated beet root.
