OATS BEETROOT CHILLA

Chilla is a healthy, delicious , Indian savoury pancakes, basically prepared from gram flour along with some veggies. Apart from gram flour, chillas can be prepared from other flours, pulses, oats etc.
Today I have prepared chilla from oats, rice flour and beetroot. Beautiful pink coloured healthy chilla can be prepared in a jiffy.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 3 persons
Ingredients:
For beetroot paste:
1 beetroot
2 green chillies
1″ piece ginger
1 tsp cumin seeds
For chilla:
1 cup rice flour
1/2 cup oats
Salt to taste
Prepared beet root paste
Water as required
Oil for cooking chilla
Method:
- Dry roast oats, cool down and grind into a powder. Grind all ingredients of beet paste and prepare a smooth paste.
- Now in a mixer jar add rice flour, powered oats, beetroot paste, salt and water and blend it in a smooth pouring batter.
- Heat the nonstick skillet. Add laddleful of batter and spread it like dosa/chilla. If needed, add few drops of oil.
- Flip another side and cook.
- Serve hot with your choice of chutney, curd etc.
