SAVOURY OVERNIGHT OATS

Overnight oats is a popular and healthy breakfast option, basically from Switzerland but now popular world wide. Usually it is prepared using any type on milk – dairy or plant based. In this no cook recipe oats are soaked in milk for atleast four hours but ideally soaking overnight is the best. Next day fruits, dry fruits etc. add ons are added before consuming.
Here, I have prepared desi version of overnight oats which is trending on social media or we can say Videshi version of curd rice.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Assmble time: 10minutes
Soaking time: overnight
Serves: 2 persons

Ingredients:
2 cup fresh curd
1/2 cup oats
1 tbsp finely chopped cucumber
1 tbsp grated carrot
1 tbsp finely chopped onion
1 tsp finely chopped ginger
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander
1 tbsp finely chopped mint leaves
Salt to taste
For tempering:
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp peanuts
1 tsp udad dal
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 sprig curry leaves

Method:

  1. Soak oats in curd, add salt and keep in refrigerator overnight.
  2. Next day add all chopped veggies in it and mix well.
  3. Prepare tempering by tempering ingredients and add into oats mixture.
  4. Serve chilled.
