Winter is season when we get chance to consume more & more healthy food. Fresh juices, green salads, piping hot soups, raab & top of all are various types of winter special Paaks & all… These winter specials helps us in improving immunity & inner body heat. Paind is one of such, which is made from goond, milk, sakkar( whole sugar), spices.
Ingredients:
250gms goond( edible gum)
1 litre milk
100gms almonds
150-200 gms Khadi Sakar
4 tbsp soonth powder
4 tbsp ganthola powder
1 tbsp white pepper powder
1 tbsp poppy seeds( optional)
Ghee for fry goond
Method:
- Boil milk.
- In non stick pan heat ghee & fry goond. It will pop up. Try not to take more ghee. If after frying more ghee is left then remove excess ghee.
3. Now add hot milk in fried goond . As milk and goond mixes and starts boiling, milk starts curdling, stir continuously.
4. After a few minutes, add khadi sakar, sliced almonds, slightly crushed poppy seeds at this stage. Keep stirring.
5.Now let it cook on slow medium flame till it becomes thick, when it cooks completely it will start leaving edges of pan.
6. Now add all three spice powders, mix well and cook few more minutes.
7. Turn off the flame and let it cool completely, then transfer it in clean and air tight container.
Notes:
1. It is preferable to store in refrigerator if quantity is more.
2. Poppy seeds is for digestion, so it’s optional to add, I didn’t add due to religious reason.
