LETTUCE WRAP

Lettuce is a leafy green or also known as salad leaves, originated in ancient Egypt but at present it is cultivated in USA , China and India. There are around 11 to 16 types of lettuce that are cultivated from whcih Iceberg, Romaine, leaf etc. are most common. Lettuce are more often used for salads but they are also used in soups, sandwiches, wraps etc. Lettuce is a rich source of vitamin A, C and B6 and potassium. Romaine lettuce is a type of head lettuce that is typically deep green coloured, elongated leaves. It is also known as Cos.
Here is lettuce wrap stuffed with spicy schezwan noodles and veggies filling. This is perfect for an evening snack or as a starter.

Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves : 4-6 rolls

Ingredients:

1 cup boiled noodles/spaghetti
1 sliced onion
2 chopped spring onions
1 grated carrot
1/2 capsicum ( jullienes )
1/4 cup shredded cabbage (I took both cabbage)
1 tsp oil
1 tbsp schezwan sauce
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste
4-6 lettuce leaves.
1 tsp oil for cooking wraps

Method:

1. Wash and blanch lettuce leaves.
2.Let’s make stuffing. For that keep ready all vegetables and spaghetti.
3. Heat oil and saute sliced onions.
4. Further add rest of the vegetables and stir fry it on high flame for couple of minutes.
6. Add boiled spaghetti and mix well.
9. Fold it from all the sides. Prepare all wraps in same way.
10. Heat skillet and grease with little oil and cook wraps from both the sides.
