POTATO IDLI

Idlis are famous south Indian dish which is consumed along with coconut chutney and sambhar. In South India idlis are consumed as breakfast or light meal.
Idlis are made from rice and dal ‘s fermented batter. Idlis are also made from semolina. We can make idlis with lots of variations in taste and flavour as per our imagination.
Here are potato idlis with semolina. Very easy and quick recipe without fermentation.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4 persons
Ingredients:
3 medium size potatoes
2 green chillies
1/2″piece ginger
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 cup semolina
1/2 cup curd
1 tsp fruit salt or baking soda
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
Method:
1. Peel and chop potatoes. Add potatoes, green chillies, ginger, cumin seeds and 1/4 cup water in grinding jar and grind it in fine batter.


2. Add semolina and curd in that batter, mix well and cover and rest for 15 minutes.


3. After 15 minutes add salt and coriander, mix well.


4. Then add fruit salt.
5. Add 2 tbsp water over fruit salt to bubble up and then mix it properly in batter.
6. Heat water in a steamer, grease idli stand and fill it with batter.
7. Cook it in steam for 10-15 minutes.
8. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
