AMLA MURABBA

Murabba is a sweet ,tangy and juicy pickle made with mango, amla ( Indian goose berry ) & sugar syrup.
Indian goose berry is super healthy fruit which are abundantly available in winter. Indian goose berry is a rich source of vitamin C & A, iron, fiber, potassium , magnesium ,calcium and antioxidants. These all nutrients makes amla super nutritious fruit and we should consume it more in any form we like.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time : 30 minutes
Serves : 6 persons

Ingredients:

750 grams amla ( Indian goose berry )
750 grams rock sugar ( approximately )
1 tsp saffron
1 tbsp cardamom seeds
7-8 pieces cinnamon

Method:

1. Wash amla and cook it in steam. Then separate amla from seeds.

2. Now in a broad pan ,add rock sugar and add water till sugar is submerged in it.

3. Now let it boil till it becomes till it becomes one to one and half strings.
Take sugar in ratio of 1 : 1.5 ie if boiled amla pieces are one bowl then take sugar 1.5 bowl.

4. Once sugar syrup becomes 1.5 strings, add amla pieces and cook for 5 minutes. As we add amla, syrup becomes little thin. Cook it for 5 minutes till it becomes thick again. Turn off the heat.

5. Then add saffron , cardamom seeds and cinnamon pieces, mix well.

6. Once it cools completely, store it in glass jars.
