ALOO KATTA ( TANGY POTATO)

Till I got married,I heard & tasted Aloo Padi Chat- a chat with maximum aloo (potato). Potatoes are used in many chat items like aloo papdi chat , bhel , pani puri etc. But aloo itself makes such yummy chat with very few ingredients and in easy way is new for me. My husband is basically from Dhanbad-Bihar now Jharkhand. He told me about this yummy chat recipe , which he used to have there. He is potato lover. In any form, he loves potatoes. Potato is like God in food for him. This Aloo Katta is obviously favorite dish of his & I dedicate this to him.

Ingredients:

2 potatoes
4 tbsp tangy tamarind sauce
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp black salt ( sanchar )

Method:

1. Wash potatoes & cut into halves.
2. Pressure cook it.

3. Once they cool down, remove peel & cut thick slices of potatoes.

4. Arrange it in a plate.

5. Dilute tamarind sauce,if it is thick & pour it on potatoes.
6. Now sprinkle black salt & red chilli powder over it & enjoy.

Note:
1. This is the basic recipe of Bihar , you can add extra spices if you wish.
2. Do not over boil potatoes, else slices will break.
