APPLE SONDESH
SONDESH/SANDESH is famous sweet of West Bengal, made from fresh chena/paneer. This lightly sweetened delicacy has spread its fame out of West Bengal too. We can make various flavoured Sondesh as per our choice , taste & imaginations. Various range of Sondesh are available in market too. Durga Pooja is upcoming, so along with many other dishes, Sondesh is also offered as Bhog. Ingredients: 1 medium size apple 1 cup paneer ( fresh) 1 tsp lemon juice 2 tbsp sugar 1/4 tsp saffron strands 2 tbsp powdered sugar Method: 1. Soak saffron strands in one tbsp milk. 2. Peel & grate apple. 3. In a pan add grated apple, lemon juice , sugar & little water & cook for 5-7 minutes. 4. While apple is being cooked, crumble paneer. 5. Once apple is cooked, cool it down to room temperature. Pulse apple,panner soaked saffron & powdered sugar. 6. Then put this mixture in refrigerator for half an hour, so it becomes a little hard. 7. Then take out & make Sondesh out of it & store it in refrigerator. 8. Serve chilled. Consume it on the same day.
