LEFTOVER ROTI ROLLS (PATRA)

LEFTOVER ROTI ROLLS (PATRA)

We all understand importance of food. I am strictly against wasting food. While in world many people don’t get food or hardly get food to satisfy hunger,in same time we should never waste food & understand it’s value & importance. Often there are some leftovers in meals in our homes. If giving it away to needy people than its okay but instead of throwing it in garbage, think, get an idea to reuse it & innovate something new. Here I have made rolls or Patra in Gujarati from leftover rotis.

Ingredients:
12 leftover fulka Rotis
2 cup gram flour
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
1 tbsp green chilli paste
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1tsp garam masala.

For tempering:
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 pinch asafoetida
8-10 curry leaves

For garnish:
Finely chopped coriander

Method:
1. Mix all ingredients into gram flour & make thick batter by adding water.
2. Now take one roti, spread prepared batter on it. Put second roti & again spread batter & put third roti & again spread batter. Now from one side start rolling & make roll.
3. Same like above make rolls from rest rotis.
4. Now in a dhokla streamer, steam cook prepared rolls.
5. Once it cools down make thin slices from steamed rolls
6. Then give temper , serve hot.
