GREEN WADA

In many states in India, fresh green chick pea grams are available in winters. Its known as Jinjra, Popta, Choliya etc. We can use it in many ways. Can consume raw or roasted. Can use it in vegetables, curries & wadas , pakodas etc. Here, I made Wanda’s using it along with other green veggies too. These wadas will be best option in high tea.

Ingredients:
1 cup fresh green chana
1 cup mung dal ( split bean pulse)
3 tbsp finely chopped coriander
3 tbsp finely chopped spinach
1 onion finely chopped
1 tbsp chilli ginger paste
1 tsp coriander seeds
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cooking soda
1 pinch asafoetida
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method:
1. Soak mung dal for an hour.
2. Roughly grind green chana. Also grind soaked mung dal without water.
3. Coarsely grind coriander seeds, fennel seeds & black pepper.
4. Now mix all ingredients & prepare a thick batter.
5. Now in a pre heated oil deep fry pakodas from prepared batter on a medium heat.
6. Once it cools down a little, press it lightly in palms & make it flat like wadas.
7. Again fry it till it become crispy.
8. Serve hot with tea, coffee or chutney, ketchup.
