PANCHAMRIT

Panchamrit as its name suggests, is prepared from five ingredients which are milk, curd, honey, mishri and ghee. Additionally dry fruits, fox nuts, tulsi leaves (holy basil) are also added. This is one of the Lord Krishna’s favourite prasad. In Sanskrit, panch means five and amrit means nectar, which is considered as the drink of God. Panchamrit is believed to be purifying and nourshing. Apart from Janmashtmi Prasad it is used in the various pujas and given as a prasad.

Makes: 1 cup
Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup fresh curd
1/2 tbsp powdered mishri (rock sugar)
1 tsp honey
1/4 tsp ghee
1 tbsp mixed dry fruits
8-10 makhana/fox nut
8-10 tulsi leaves
Method:
- In a mixing bowl, take milk. Add curd in it and mix well.
- Add powdered mishri, honey & ghee and mix well.
- Further add dry fruits, makhana and tulsi leaves and mix.
- Our Panchamrit is ready to offer Lord Krishna.
Note: - Make sure you don’t prepare panchamrit in advance, keep in refrigerator as it has curd in it.
