BEETROOT AMLA MUKHWAS ( INDIAN GOOSEBERRY BEETROOT MOUTHFRESHNER)

Mouthfreshners are an essential part of Indian cuisine. Mouth freshners are generally consumed after meals
It helps in digestion too. Fennel seeds, sesame seeds, coriander seeds etc are main and most consumed mouthfreshners. They are consumed raw or after seasoning and sauteeing. Mix all or consume alone whichever way you like. ‘Paan’ is betel leaves stuffed with various ingredients. Apart from this common mouthfreshners some different mouthfreshners are also popular as well such as dried ginger, mango, gooseberry etc.
Here is healthy ,yummy and beautifully coloured mouthfreshner prepared from beetroot and Indian gooseberry aka amla.
Preparation time : 15 minutes.
Drying time : 2-4 days
Makes : one medium jar
Ingredients:
10 Indian gooseberries
1 beetroot
1 tbsp or to taste salt
1 tbsp fennel seeds
1/4 cup rock sugar
1 tsp black salt
Method:
1. Wash and peel beetroot. Wash gooseberries too. Grate them.
2. Add salt and mix well and keep aside for 10-15 minutes.

3. Then spread it on a plastic sheet and keep in the sunlight for 1-2 days. (Depend on the strength of sunlight)
4. Grind sugar and fennel seeds together. Add this into partially dried gosseberry-beet mixture. Also add black salt ,mix well.
5. Now again spread it and keep them in sunlight for 3-4 days ( Again time depends on the strength of sunlight) or till it perfectly dry.
6. Once it dries, store it in clean, glass jar and consume it after meals.
