COLD COCOA

It started with Surat ( Gujarat ) but now famous all over Gujarat. Cold cocoa is basically chocolate flavoured milk which is more popular in younger generation. When hot summer is upcoming , this chilled cocoa drink works as a cooling system.

Ingredients:
1 litre full cream milk
6 tbsp cocoa powder
4 tsp vanilla custard powder
6 tbsp sugar
1 cup grated chocolate

Method:
1. Keep aside 1/4 cup milk & pour rest of the milk in thick bottom pan & bring it to boil, add sugar too.

2. While it comes to boil, prepare slurry. Add cocoa powder, & custard powder in 1/4 cup milk , mix well & prepare lump free slurry.

3. Once the milk start boiling, slow down flame & add slurry, stirring continuously so it mixes with milk well and no lumps are formed.

4. Once everything Incorporated well again increase flame & boil for few minutes, till consistency becomes thick.
5. Then turn off the flame & stir it occasionally . Once it comes to room temperature,keep it in refrigerator for atleast 4-5 hours so it becomes chilled.
6. At the time of serving, pour it in glass & top up with lots of grated chocolate.

Note:
1. Can use corn flour instead of custard powder.
2. Can add chocolate chips instead of grated chocolate.
3. Can add chocolate powder in slurry.
